Why Does Cosmetic Surgery Fail and What Can Go Wrong?
Hi, not all, but I think a good plastic surgeon is very important! We've got here a few “famous” surgeons who can't even do a normal nose job, and their insta fake pictures and good reviews are not everything. Take your time and do your homework, plus you get people who will overdo it.
She says she never had plastic surgery, um, ok, and now a shocker… I found a picture from her youth. Wow, such a pretty lady, right! So I guess it depends on the plastic surgeon and yourself, don't overdo it.
Ambiguity in Success Rates
Who says it fails? I have never heard this, and I think this all depends on the type of procedure you have done and the surgeon.
So much of what tries to pass as "cosmetic surgery" unfortunately is being done by untrained and undertrained physicians who are not real plastic surgeons. They often use the title of "Cosmetic Surgeon". Always seek out surgeons who have board certification from the American Board of Plastic Surgery. And for cosmetic procedures, it helps to know they have been accepted as members of the Aesthetic Society. For rhinoplasty, also look for members of The Rhinoplasty Society. If I sound biased, it is because I have seen the results of badly done surgery by self-trained physicians. I know what goes into a 6 or 7-year residency and fellowship program.
Like anything, there is always someone who is better and more experienced. Although it’s a shame there ARE people who aren’t the best at their job or still inexperienced. Either of the two can result in outcomes that aren’t ideal or to be expected. It could be their level of knowledge with the type of patient, etc. but it's important to check your doctor thoroughly and be picky because it’s an important and expensive decision to commit to.
Past Intents of Plastic Surgery
Oh, my favorite subject. Plastic surgery. Before I answer this, “on fleek” means your eyebrows are on point. Plastic surgery really was not meant to be used to enhance beauty. Plastic surgery was generally used when you had a serious accident, and whatever the accident, the part of your body that was severely injured used plastic surgery to put your body back together again, as near normal as possible. As a caveat, let the buyer beware. Plastic surgery is now seen as the must-have goal. A bandwagon of sorts has been created. Anyone can set themselves up as a beauty consultant and open a business and practice surgery of sorts.
You only have to look at the horror stories of men and women having plastic surgery. Face lift: The face always looks out of sync after surgery. Breast implants: leaking poison into your body. Butt implants: fat sucked out of their waists and thighs, then transferred to their butts to give them a butt lift. Many people have died because they've enhanced their butts, the medicines used during this procedure are in actuality deadly poisons. That deadly cocktail of anaesthetics swirling around your body is enough to make me vomit. The horror stories go on. The only thing about plastic surgery is it’ll surely leave you with empty pockets.
With the advances of Social Media and the need to be seen as perfect, everyone wants a piece of the action. I wear eyebrow pencil most days, a good moisturiser and petroleum jelly, and I don’t wear makeup. I like my skin to breathe. Sometimes, I don’t wear any eyebrow pencil at all. I have a snub nose and I love my nose. I am not going to let a surgeon cut, paste the cartilage with flaps of skin from another part of my body. Hell no.
What to Expect Before and After Surgery
Before you consider plastic surgery, picture this:
If you’re a smoker, no smoking for at least 2 weeks before surgery and 2 weeks after. Better still, give it up altogether. Smoking increases the risk of infection and slows down the healing process. No exercise or blowing your nose. Dosed up to the eyeballs with painkillers. So you’ll have to sit around with enormous black eyes until the swelling goes down, feeling sorry for yourself.Plastic surgery is a waste of money spending it on surgery you’re never satisfied with. The surgeon may botch it up, you spend even more money putting the surgery right when there was nothing wrong with you to begin with. You end up looking like every nipped, tuck person who has had it. I hate needles. No plastic surgeon is going to come near me with a needle. I'd be more likely to punch him/her out.
JOKE.
I'm just not interested in plastic surgery. Plastic surgery goes wrong for many reasons: Greedy plastic surgeons who don't care about the outcome of the surgery. They're only in it for the money. The patient smokes after surgery, undoing the good work the plastic surgeon has done. The plastic surgery doesn't heal well. Poor after-care. As for looking strange, I imagine the plastic surgeon has a template in their minds. Working on the premise that it worked on that person. I'll do t...
